Used Laptops vs New Laptops
Laptops are a big investment. When thinking of purchasing one, first decide on how important it will be in your life and what it might do to your pocket. A good way to cut costs is buying a used laptop or even a refurbished piece which has been rebuilt by a professional. If purchasing a laptop means surfing the internet, checking emails, games, slide presentations, watching videos, then a used laptop can complete the job. In used laptops, there is a slight performance difference compared to a brand new one.
Many importers from India buy laptops in bulk and sometimes get good deals on used ones. These laptops are usually from companies who are selling off their inventory due to liquidation or are buying new stock or are upgrading to the latest software’s. Companies’ definition of a used laptop may vary so check with them what is covered under a used laptop. Companies’ usually give a warranty period of three to six months if an exchange has been done. If you’re buying a used laptop from one seller, get it checked in front of the person and get something in writing which can get you your money back if there is a problem.
New laptops are brand ‘new’ located in a sealed box and are in pristine condition. They don’t have all these hassles that a used laptop would have. Most often people confuse the best laptop to mean the most expensive, quickest with state-of-the-art bleeding edge technology. While the cost for a new laptop could be anywhere near 18,000 Indian rupees, depending on the make and model, a used laptop could reduce it by a few thousands.
Used laptops can come in handy for students or for someone with basic computer skills and needs. If mobility and portability of a laptop is what you’re looking out for, it’s essential to figure out if a new laptop would serve the same purpose as an old one. One of the benefits new laptops have is their warranty period.
This is added protection if there is some damage done or some part needs a replacement. Many buy new laptops for their image. If style and sleekness are the qualities you’re searching for in your laptop, then it’s a good deal.
If you are a parent and want to cheer your young child with a laptop, then buy a used one. Because all your child needs it is for typing lessons, projects, surfing the net and surely for playing games. The are very well thrilled by the fact that they own a laptop.
They will not be as careful as an older person cause they do not your blood and toil has gone into purchase it. You may find the laptop in one corner, its adaptor and charger the other. So invest minimum and reap maximum.
Again, if you are a small time business person or run a small business from home, you can do with a used laptop to stock up your files. Know your spend, expense, profit and more. Once your profits go beyond expected, then you can think of purchasing a new one. Till then it will work up to your expectations.
If you know of someone selling a laptop then it is preferable to pick it up from a known source. That does not mean set-ups that offer second hand laptops are not trustworthy, but with a known source you can be rest assured.
